Music is an important value and part of the service at St. John’s. While we have professional piano accompaniment most Sundays there is ample opportunity to share your gifts. Our services are blended in style with space for classic, contemporary, folk, and other musicians.
Choir
Do you love to sing? St. John’s choir is starting the 2023-4 season in Sept.
Rehearsals are 8pm on Wednesdays.
Soloist/ Special Music
Many Sundays we have an open slot for sharing a praise song that you enjoy in many different formats. This can include just teaching the congregation a song you love by singing in unison with everyone else.
Instrumentalist are also invited to either share a piece during the service or before/after the service as a prelude, postlude. We’ve got music for any key and set up, and can adjust to your level.
Music initiatives
The debates about worship style are “so 1990s,” and the only real limit to what music we have in our services at St. John’s is the number of volunteers. After reopening fully from COVID, we are looking for ways to expand our music programs in new ways that the church has not had before. We are actively looking for Saturday evening special concerts, new styles, and new instrumentalist especially
