SOME IDEAS FOR HOW TO USE THE PRAYER MAP
We will be praying for the Township street by street each Sunday Service. You can join in by praying for each “street” of the week at home. The schedule is provided only for convenience as some like to pray a street a day, if you join us late you could start off where the church is and come back, etc. It’s also a cheap google map shot so some people like to get a much nicer map.
Some General outline for prayer with a map:
- Thank God for that neighborhood, its people, and all the Good things that happen in those homes and on that street. (Spend some time on this one and don’t rush through it, if you take joy in the Lord your prayers will be joyful as will the answers)
- Pray for God to give safety, security, and happiness to everyone who lives off of, drives on, or crosses that road.
- Pray that God would send his workers along that road to bring the Gospel to everyone living there.
- Pray for your ministers and the church, that they would know how to best serve everyone along the road
- Pray for the young people that are growing alongside these roads, and all the places and journeys that road will take them on
- Pray for the adults along the road (Parents, Seniors, Singles), pray God would grant them the stability of the trees to build a community that honors him and supports one another
- Pray that there would be a general removal of discord, strife, and enmity between neighbors.
- Pray against the spirit of Gossip in town.
- Ask God to comfort all the sick on that street.
- Pray that new blessings would form within the neighborhood. Like clubs, friendships, and families.
I’m stuck! What should I pray?
- This map is not exhaustive, there are a lot of little streets off these roads.
- Think of the actual people living there. Some you may know, and some you may not. They each have stories and struggles that are precious to God. Pray that God would give you eyes to see your neighbors with the love he does.
- Try to picture the area/ maybe even go ahead and drive or walk the street to pray for the actual houses. This helps the mind relax about what to say.
Remember this tool is only as good as it gets used! Try to just take a short time each day (2-5 minutes) to pray for the road of the week.
